Differences Between Pump Options Explained
The standard pump that comes with your Smoke Daddy reflects these average time frames
With standard air pump
- 6 inch 30 to 45 mins
- 8 inch 45 to 90 mins
- Big Kahuna 60 to 180 mins
- Magnum P.I.G. 5 to 8 Hrs
With the high output adjustable airflow pump
Our larger adjustable pump provides an increased smoke output and therefore reduces the length of time between refills
- 6 inch not recommended
- 8 inch 30 to 45 mins

- Magnum P.I.G. 3 to 5 Hrs
Time between refills varies according to fuel type fuel size and the volume of air flow introduced to the unit.
Q. Can I use all pellets in the Smoke Daddy?
A. You could, but, we strongly recommend a mixture of pellets and wood chips in the Smoke Daddy for the best results.
Q. What is Cold smoking?
A. Cold smoking is when smoke is introduced at temps 100 degrees or lower. This type of smoking is for flavor and proper curing and a finishing temperature must be achieved.
Q. How thick of a wall can it be used on?
A. It is designed to fit up to a 4” thick wall.
Q. Can I use the Smoke Daddy for hot smoking?
A. Yes I use it on a large propane Pig Roaster. It can be easily attached to an existing BBQ grill.
Q. Can I use wood chips instead of pellets?
A. Yes I recommend small wood chips about the size of a nickel.
Q. Do you have to soak the wood chips?
A. No. You use them dry.
Q Will the Smoke Daddy raise the temp of my smoker?
A. No it just provides the smoke.
Q. How often do I have to clean out the ash?
A. The unit is designed to hold a lot of ash. I do recommend cleaning after each use.
